In a pivotal development ahead of the 2024 Ondo State gubernatorial election, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye (OBA) has secured clearance from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Screening Committee to contest on the party’s platform.
This was confirmed in a statement signed and made available to newsmen by his Media Advsier and Strategist, Oyeniyi Iwakun, on today Wednesday, 27th March, 2024.
Iwakun noted that “the screening committee’s approval affirms OBA’s eligibility and qualifications to represent the PDP in the forthcoming polls and potentially ascend to the state’s highest office.
“Addressing supporters shortly after receiving his screening certificate, an elated OBA implored PDP leaders, delegates, and members to rally behind his candidacy in the party’s primaries”. Akingboye said.
OBA vowed unwavering preparedness and commitment to serving the people of Ondo State if elected.
“I call upon all stakeholders within our great party to unite behind my vision for a prosperous and progressive Ondo State,” OBA stated.
“Together, we shall usher in a new era of development and upliftment for our beloved state.”
As the PDP prepares for its gubernatorial primaries, OBA’s clearance signals the commencement of an intense campaign season, with the aspirant poised to vigorously canvass for support across the state’s diverse constituencies.
Further details on the PDP’s primary process and other cleared aspirants are expected to be released soon.
