Honoring a Matriarch’s Legacy: Otunba Bamidele Akingboye Leads Cultural Procession for Late Mother

People’s Democratic Party (PDP) frontline gubernatorial aspirant, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye (OBA), has commenced burial activities for his late mother, Princess Margaret Mojisola Akingboye, who was affectionately remembered as a pillar of strength and a beacon of wisdom.

Princess Akingboye passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by her community and family. The second phase of the burial ceremony commenced today in Owo, marked by the Ajabu dance, a cultural procession to honor her life and legacy. Princess Akingboye’s contributions to her community and her family will continue to inspire us all, and her memory will be forever etched in the hearts of those who knew her.

As Otunba Akingboye Bamidele temporarily suspends campaign activities, “we recognize the importance of family and honor the traditions that bind us together during moments of both celebration and sorrow. Our thoughts and prayers are with Otunba Akingboye Bamidele and his family as they bid farewell to Princess Akingboye Margaret Mojisola. May her soul rest in eternal peace.

The burial program began with a Service of Songs at OBA’s residence in Okitipupa by 4:00 pm last week Friday being 12th April, 2024. Cultural processions took place today bring Tuesday, April 16th, followed by a Service of Songs/Night of Tributes on Wednesday, April 17th. A Christian wake will be held on Thursday, April 18th, while the grand finale, including the burial program and interment, will occur on April 19th, 2024, all in Owo.

Expected at the event are family, friends, colleagues, staff, followers, well-wishers, political associates, PDP members and chieftains, and many others who wish to pay their respects and honor the life of this remarkable woman.
