On the 19th of February 2024, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye, popularly known as OBA, a prominent aspirant for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming Ondo gubernatorial elections, held a grand funeral ceremony for his late mother at Boje Signatures in Owo. The event was marked by an overwhelming turnout, with individuals from diverse walks of life, including traditional rulers, eminent politicians, and PDP members, paying their respects.
The funeral procession was attended by a multitude of people, including emissaries from the Ooni of Ife, the Oluse of Ose, Jegun of Idepe Okitipupa, and chieftains from across the country. High-profile business partners and respected politicians, such as former governor Olusegun Mimiko, Olorogun Eddy Olafeso, Ola John Mafo, Chief Oyedele Ibine, Chief Rotimi Ibidapo populary known as Bassey, Honorable Mike Omogbehin, Cheif Mrs Esther Ebiwonjumi and many others graced the occasion, underscoring OBA’s widespread support.
Several Members of the House of Assembly (MHA) associated with the PDP were present, along with other high-ranking party officials.
During the ceremony, OBA expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming support he received, addressing the attendees with a vote of thanks. His appreciation was directed towards the political figures, PDP members, and the multitude of individuals who took the time to attend the funeral service.
