A group under the aegis of Unifier Ambassador of Nigeria, some youths of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and students on Friday held a solidarity walk in support of leading gubernatorial contestant Otunba Bamidele Akingboye (OBA) ahead of the November 2024 elections in Ondo State.
The walk was organized by Hon. Bosede Salami Agbaje, the Director General and Convener of the group supporting OBA as well as a former House of Assembly aspirant from Idanre.
“After consultations around the state, we decided to throw our full weight behind Otunba Akingboye because we believe he alone has the capability to solve the many problems facing our state,” Agbaje passionately stated. She explained that the youths assembled were hungry for a reliable, dependable and kind-hearted leader which they found in OBA.
Agbaje added that the youths were tired of the current situation and need a vibrant aspirant like Akingboye who is ready to elevate Ondo to greatness. Her position was echoed by National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) leader Dipo Falobi on behalf of other students who fully participated in the walk “OBA has proven he is ready to work in the interest of youths and the people ahead of the 2024 elections,” he said.
The high-profile display of solidarity underscores Akingboye’s growing momentum among young voters as the PDP selection process heats up. With Agbaje, students leaders and youth groups spearheading efforts, OBA hopes to become the party’s standard bearer next November.
